    Written for Piano Quintet, "Your Lie" delves into the complexity of love, capturing both its uplifting and painful aspects. The A section embodies the warmth and beauty of a romantic connection, evoking a sense of harmony and joy. However, as relationships inevitably face challenges, the B section introduces a shift—reflecting tension, uncertainty, and the emotional turmoil that often accompanies difficult times. The piece then resolves back into the A section, symbolizing the possibility of reconciliation and the cyclical nature of love's highs and lows.

  • Piece of Mind

    Written for Pierrot Ensemble, "Piece of Mind" is a powerful protest against the emotional repression perpetuated by the patriarchal system, capturing the inner turmoil and struggle that result from it. The piece takes the listener on an emotional journey, beginning with a calm neutral state before exploring the overwhelming feelings of those taught to suppress and mask their emotions. These tensions build and escalate until they ultimately explode in a dramatic release, symbolizing a breakdown of emotional barriers. The piece concludes with a moment of catharsis, offering a sense of resolution and the hope of finding true peace of mind after the storm of internal conflict.

  • Nördlicher Wald

    “Nördlicher Wald” was written in 24 hours and premiered at the 2025 24|24 concert with the UNT Composer’s Forum. Inspired from the stark, yet resilient beauty of the northern Pennsylvania forests. The piece captures the eerie quiet and chill of a snow-covered landscape, evoking the sense of isolation and tension felt while navigating the frozen woods. The composition begins with a central theme, slowly unraveling and transforming through a series of variations that mirror the shifting textures and moods of the forest, ultimately portraying both the cold solitude and the quiet vitality that coexist within it.

  • Vánek

    "Vánek" is a meditative work for solo percussion that draws inspiration from the tranquil winds of Trstěnice. Premiered as part of the 2025 Symposium Trstěnice, the piece explores the delicate interplay between motion and stillness through subtle textures and resonances.

    A brushed timpani and tam-tam evoke the gentle, swirling air currents, while vibraphone and crotales mimic the soft clinking of distant wind chimes. The result is a sonic landscape that invites the listener to reflect on the quiet beauty of nature’s breath.
